In the near future. Emerson Davis, a thirtysomething Jewish divorcee, finds herself unable to access her psychiatric medication in a world overtaken by a fiery plague known as “Combustion.” At a time when the government has requisitioned all medical supplies for more important survivors, she journeys through landscapes ranging from mountainous national parks to smoldering cities in order to get to the factory that manufactures her medication. Accompanied by her deaf dog, Lucky, she takes on various companions and adversaries along the way, until it becomes clear that she may be her own most vicious enemy.

LJT lives with her husband and her deaf Dogo Argentino in the Deep South. She is a mental patient who has difficulty pronouncing the word “drawer” and she is distantly related to the dreaded pirate Black Bart Roberts. This is her second novel. Her first novel, Practical Blasphemy: The New Testament, was published by ANTIBOOKCLUB in 2019.
